Again and again wild, massive open, risky, curious or simply rotten projects are touched on or being created upon request from festivals. Some of these project formations have become steady groups and have presented their music in concert or on LPs / CDs . Others have been performed live and only occasionally been recorded.

All these projects is common that the participating musicians come from the most different musical directions and manners of playing music.

1985 – 1988: MARKUS STAUSS QUARTETT, free music with minimal composed inserts. The LP "Neulich im Studio" (The other Day in the Studio).

NEW DUOS 'N' TRIOS, free music with the Trio Basel – NY, the Trio NY – Zürich. Free Jazz, Noise; electronics. CD New Duos 'n' Trios.

1993 / 1997: Compositions and improvisation concepts for XOPF POOL INTERNATIONAL, five bands and soloists are melted into one big orchestra, within which each formation / soloist takes up guiding practices best known to them and relates through playing to the others'way(s) of playing and guiding input. Cassette XOPH Records Nr 20.
