Similar to adventurers penetrating a massive jungle with sleepwalking
certainty and dig up hidden sumptuousness and bring to light
fascinating treasures.
In the eighties Ulterior Lux , a bizarre funk fusion group by Jean
Chaine & Drummer Dimthings from Miami, created enthusiasm in the
US-public and press with unusual concerts and recordings like
"Dimthings's heart of the klux flux", " Dimthings going back to the
insane" and "Those unforgettable shamans". 1990 "wild saxman" Stauss
joined the band. This trio recorded a live double LP album "The Dancing
man". Since 1996 new in the band is Rémy Sträuli, a young in north
eastern Switzerland already quite in demand.
Quotations from the press:
A Trio at the heights of its mastership. Lyrical sound painting
alternates with ecstatic explosions of the saxophonist. Chaine is an
phenomenal e-bass player with a spectacular groove. The yet young
drummer Straeuli drums securely across the realms of Art rock and Punk.
ULTERIOR LUX really plays an autonomous Fusion music. (Butz,
