YOLK die Vierte
Just before a - the world would end, b – the Musikwerkstatt Basle would
be torn down the Yolks decided in February 1999 to go there once again
to do some recording.
It happened to become the last of the legendary "Octopus" line-up
takes. Shortly after Guitarist Willi Riechsteiner and permanent guest
Stefan Hugi left the Yolks.
The Yolks were particularly satisfied that the "Micro Pizzas" of the
Guitar composer Leo Brouwer, which since long figured in the YOLKS
repertoire, finally could be recorded in a satisfactory way.
So the years went by, the world didn't end and with no money and a new
cast the Yolks forgot about these takes, which seemed to rot away in
the basement. Then a mad Italian (Raoul Caprio from the Kaliphonia
Label) had the idea to nevertheless publish these songs, because in
Italy the Octopus CD sold as good as red vine. And now, due to the
excellent collaboration between Raoul Caprio and Markus Stauss, this CD
has finally been produced. |
